MESi specializes in off-the-shelf DSP-based software modem, tone signaling, and call progress processing components and systems for embedded telecom, wireless data radio, and satellite communications markets. MESi was incorporated in 1996 from the Miller Engineering Services consulting engineering firm founded in 1990, and provides DSP software design services spanning a wide range of digital signal processing applications fields. MESi currently sells software component and system products directly with pricing, performance, and simple licensing information available at the MESi website. MESi also offers custom component integrated solutions and system level applications development.

MESi was formed to pool all of the modem, signal processing, and DSP implementation expertise gained by a decade of engineering applications experience into a "retail-like" software product suite.  The first applications of the MESi ITU-T “Vsim/Vmodem” software modem suite were in voice, fax and data relay products for satellite and data networks.  These applications test the quality and versatility of the algorithms because relay products must perform better than the initiator/responder devices to be truly transparent. Since then, MESi software modems and telephony components have been used in a variety of applications including multi-channel fax and data systems, digital voice, remote monitoring, data logging, and MS Windows^®-based platforms.
